Expert Rough and Finish Grading in Parker County, TX

Bird Dog Excavation LLC handles rough and finish grading for residential and commercial properties throughout Parker County. Rough grading shapes your land to the correct elevations and establishes drainage patterns before foundation or utility work begins. Finish grading follows construction and brings the site to its final surface, ready for concrete, landscaping, or seeding. Parker County soil varies widely across its 905 square miles. Some parcels carry sandy or clay-heavy ground, while others sit on shallow caliche layers that resist shaping without the right equipment and approach. Our crew reads each site before moving a single yard of material. We cut and fill to direct water away from structures, compact soil to reduce settling, and leave your surface ready for the next trade or final use. Whether you are prepping a home site, a pad, or correcting drainage on an existing lot, call Bird Dog Excavation to get your Parker County property graded right.

Rough and Finish Grading FAQ

Common questions about rough and finish grading in Parker County, TX.

Most new construction in Parker County needs both. Rough grading shapes the site and sets drainage early, while finish grading creates the precise surface needed for foundations, driveways, or landscaping.

Yes, we work with Parker County's varied soil types, including caliche and clay-heavy ground. Our equipment and site approach are selected based on what your specific parcel holds.

Finish grading brings your site to its final surface elevation after major construction is done. It prepares the ground for concrete flatwork, seeding, sod, or other surface work.

Grading can correct drainage problems by reshaping the slope so water moves away from structures and toward proper runoff areas. We assess your lot's current grade before recommending a scope of work.

If your lot has uneven elevation, low spots, or no defined slope away from the build area, rough grading is needed before foundation work begins. Bird Dog Excavation can evaluate your site and outline what the work involves.

Before and after, you can definitely tell the difference! Not only did Nick do an amazing job helping us place rock to fix our erosion issues, but he was also prompt, on time, and extremely professional throughout the entire process. The finished result looks great, and it’s clear he takes pride in his work. I can’t recommend Bird Dog Excavations enough. If you need excavation, erosion, landscaping work done, give them a call—Nick will get it taken care of for you! And for those asking on pricing, he’s very reasonable on prices. Best work and price that came out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Nick at Bird Dog Excavation is hands on when undertaking a effort and ensures the job is done right!! We had an outstanding experience and fantastic support with Nick and his team throughout the process of re-structuring our 600+ foot driveway and oval turnaround with custom curbs and adding the necessary gravel and compaction. They added the needed dirt and sod in accompanying areas and resolved drainage issues as well with altering curb heights and re-directing the curb path in areas and ultimately funneling into a custom made steel pipe cattle guard with its own catch basin. Nick kept in constant communication during the entire effort and he and his team were phenomenal!! They were professional, timely, and knowledgeable and always kept the site clean. I would highly recommend Bird Dog Excavation!! Nick and his team are dependable, give superior service and will provide high customer satisfaction with a cost effective approach!!

We hired Bird Dog Excavation Services to remove 500 ft of old fence, clear the fence line, and then run new fencing. This was on our main pasture so it required the job to be done quickly so our cattle would not be pushed out for an extended period of time. It also required significant grade work to improve drainage to prevent future washouts. In just 2 days the project was complete beyond expectations. We then utilized a third day for brush cutting a very overgrown section of land that had been unusable. Giving us more pasture and access to an overgrown pond. Incredible results in just 3 days adding value and utilization to our property. Highly recommend.

Bird Dog Excavation has been incredible to work with on multiple projects for us. They’re always very timely in communication, professional from start to finish, and the quality of their work is consistently top-tier. Most recently, they helped with prep work for a retaining wall project and did an amazing job. We’ll absolutely be having them back when it’s time to start the wall itself. Highly recommend!
